SPECIAL EVENTS INTERNSHIP
Reports to the Special Events Director in developing, planning and implementing all logistics for the Vizcaya
fundraising events. Internship includes experience with developing sponsorship benefits and recognition; creating
entertainment and décor plans; catering agreements; ticketing and promotion; work with vendors and other
organizational activities for the success of the fund-raising event; as well as other duties as assigned.
The internship will focus on all logistics and planning from sponsorship, marketing, décor, silent auction, and
catering for the Vizcaya Fundraising Events.
Learn sponsorship acquisition and development.
Develop time lines for event.
Develop logistics plan for sponsors and overall event.
Develop working budget.
Develop acknowledgement skills for guests and sponsors.
TIMEFRAME: Summer and Fall Semesters 2019
- Must be actively enrolled in a college or university
- Majoring in hospitality, business, marketing or related fields
- Hours M-F; minimum of 24 hrs per week
- Event experience a plus
Stipend: $1500.00 per semester
